I think nurses have a very important role in ethics regarding evidence implementation. Nursing revolves around scientific research and implementing practices that are going to keep patients safe and healthy. Nurses implement evidence based research into their daily tasks. They have to take into consideration their feelings about the research and the situation they are in and make the best decision for their patient all while maintaining patient rights. This can lead to ethical dilemmas that they will have to work through in order to provide adequate care for the patient. I think as long as nurses are aware of the research being put into place and can confront their feelings towards it, they can provide adequate care for the patient. Research is constantly evolving and changing and nurses have to stay on top of the changing information and procedures to give the best care possible. With constantly changing information, it makes it hard to implement new techniques because you want to stick with what works and what will benefit the patient the most. I think if nurses can address this and trust the research, there will not be as many ethical dilemmas regarding implementing new techniques.
